EVALUATION OF SAFETY AND QUALITY OF PRODUCTS

Microbiological tests:

Physicochemical tests:

We analyse basic parameters:

  • dry matter, protein, fat, salt, starch
  • mineral and organic contamination
  • acidity, acid number and peroxide and iodine number
  • total and non-sugar extract
  • pH
  • density
  • mass and net volume

We also determine:

  • water activity
  • fatty acid composition
  • cholesterol and plant sterols
  • mycotoxins
  • sweeteners and preservatives
  • vitamins
  • minerals (magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, manganese, copper, chromium, zinc and others)

FOOD ADDITIVES

We conduct these tests in order to:

  • determine the presence of dyes
  • determine phosphate, nitrite and nitrate content
  • determine the content of preservative and sweeteners

FOOD SHELF-LIFE TESTS

They are designed to determine the shelf life of food articles and raw materials. Depending on the declared storage conditions we offer 3 types of tests:

  • standard
  • thermostat tests
  • under conditions of accelerated aging

NUTRITION VALUE

This allows the consumer to obtain information on the energy value of products and the components that affect its nutritional value.

Our analyses go in accordance with the following requirements:

  • Regulation of the European Parliament and Council (EU) No. 1169/2011 on informing consumers about food
  • at the request of the client, we take into account the requirements for food on the U.S. market

In addition, we calculate the Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) and the development of nutritional tables needed to be included on the label.

VITAMINS

We determine the following vitamins:

  • fat-soluble (A, D, E, K),
  • water soluble (B1, B2, B5, B6, B12, C, biotin, niacin, folic acid).

CONTAMINATION AND FOREIGN SUBSTANCES

We offer tests for the content of the following:

  • heavy metals
  • nitrates, nitrites, phosphates
  • mycotoxins: aflatoxins - B1, B2, G1, G2 and M1, patulin, ochratoxin A, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, fumonisin B1 and B2, T-2 toxin and HT-2,
  • benzo (a) pyrene and the sum of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)
  • histamine
  • dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs
  • pesticide residues
  • residues of veterinary drugs
  • radioactivity: general content of radionuclides, strontium 90, cesium 134, 137

ANIMAL CARCASSES

The scope of analysis covers the following types of carcasses:

  • cattle
  • pigs
  • poultry
  • sheep
  • goats
  • horses

 

We conduct tests for verifying the hygiene of slaughter, taking samples from carcasses or half carcasses with the following methods:

  • swabs
  • destructive
  • abrasive sponge

 

We determine the following:

  • Salmonella spp.
  • Enterobacteriaceae
  • mesophilic aerobic microorganisms

 

ALLERGENS, GMOs - PCR TESTS

Real-time PCR technique allows a precise distinction and identification of nucleic acid sequences, even in a very small sample. High sensitivity of this method allows for the detection of even small amounts of searched copies of DNA sequence in analysed products. Because of these properties, the method of real-time PCR can be used to perform both qualitative and quantitative analyses.

ALLERGENS

The analysys of allergens carried out by our laboratories include such areas as:

  • raw materials
  • finished products
  • cleanliness of technological lines

The purpose of analyzing technological lines is to assess the potential for the transfer of trace amounts of allergens used in the process to the process carried out on the same line without the use of the raw material containing this particular allergen, such as walnut and an efficiency of the line's preparation.

We conduct tests to determine the presence and/or content of the following allergens:

  • milk protein
  • walnut, hazelnut, peanuts
  • sesame
  • gluten
  • celery
  • mustard
  • soybeans

GMO

We test for presence and quantitative determination of authorized GMOs.

PATHOGENTS, ADULTERATION - TESTS BY PCR

The real-time PCR technique also makes it possible to determine the presence of pathogens in products and to detect food adulteration. We test for the presence of the following pathogens:

PATHOGENS IN FOOD, FEEDSTUFFS, ENVIRONMENTAL SAMPLES

Conventional methods of microbiological analysis are laborious and time consuming. In comparison, the use of molecular methods can significantly reduce the time of waiting for the result.

  • Listeria monocytogenes,
  • Salmonella spp,
  • E. coli O157: H7

FOOD ADULTERATION

The real-time PCR technique allows for efficient detection of adulteration in food.

We detect the following adulterations:

  • of milk - with whey
  • of butter - with vegetable fats
  • of meat products - with other types of meat

Our analyses also allow for the identification of fish species introduced into the market.
