Dermatological testing

Dermatological tests of cosmetics and household chemicals are used to assess whether a given preparation has irritant properties and does not cause allergies or other adverse effects after its application on the skin.

The main objective of dermatological testing is to verify the final product formulation in order to eliminate irritant and allergenic substances from its composition.

List of conducted dermatological tests:

  • Patch tests (Patch Test): open, semi-open, closed;
  • Confirmation of hypoallergenic properties of the cosmetic;
  • Evaluation of photo-toxicity and photoallergenicity (Photo Patch Test);
  • Repeated Insult Patch Test (RIPT).
